Emily is a Certified Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner and Stress Management Specialist, with a deep and heartfelt love of the healing arts. Emily discovered the holistic healing arts early in life, when seeking alternative ways to solve her own health challenges as a young woman. Today, after fourteen years of study in movement healing and the healing arts, she inspires clients by passing on the enthusiasm gleaned from her personal successes on the healing path.
Known for her practical, creative and down-to-earth approach, Emily’s intimate connection with natural healing also makes her one of the field’s most compassionate teachers.“I’ve stood in the client’s shoes before,” she says, “so I understand how much a client needs support from me, not just in terms of correct technique, but on the human level. Having the courage to change your life and heal yourself deserves respect, attention and compassion. I can assure you that the support you get from me is truly guilt-free.”
EDUCATION
Many years ago, a yearlong internship under the tutelage of Saratoga Springs Acupuncturist Deborah Kozlowski introduced Emily to the foundational theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and gave her a rich appreciation of the healing arts. She soon discovered Eden Energy Medicine, which borrows from Traditional Chinese Medicine and other ancient healing traditions, yet offers a unique and sophisticated system tailored to the demands of our modern times. Impressed by the sophistication of EEM, and inspired by the system's remarkable founder Donna Eden, Emily took years of classes and then joined the Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program.
In addition to her studies with Eden Energy Medicine, Emily infuses her practice with the body awareness gained from years of dance training, three Yoga Certifications (Ashtanga/Iyengar from Urban Yoga, Prenatal Yoga for Women from Janice Clarfeld and Yoga Trance Dance teacher training from Shiva Rea) and exploration in the Alexander Technique. Emily also holds a Reiki Level II certification, and Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude distinctions from Skidmore College.
Emily's passion is empowering women, and showing them how to guide themselves back into greater health and creative freedom. “Learning that you can heal yourself is a personal revelation. Once you learn these skills, you will feel more empowered for the rest of your life.”
Emily says: "When I first read Donna Eden's book "Energy Medicine, " I didn't just get healthier, but I felt a sense of hope and wisdom returning to me. I started understanding what was going on with my health for the first time, and all the pieces made practical sense. Not only did I begin to decode my body's messages, but more importantly, I began to give my body was it needed! Doing simple exercises, I could start to feel better in minutes. This was the first time I went from feeling victimized by my health and my body, to truly partnering with it, and feeling whole in the world. I can't really explain how much I love Energy Medicine, or how much I LOVE Donna Eden....
Or how much I love her daughters! It's worth mentioning that I found her daughters Dondi and Titanya Dahlin (Internationally renowned dancers) at the same time I found "Eden Energy Medicine," and they invited me to start dancing again after a 5-year injury had left me seriously sad. They opened my eyes to a world of dance that is passionate, exhilarating, creative and HEALING. I learned to let go of old, harmful ideas of what a dancer's body should be, and opened myself up to the reality that ALL WOMEN are creative vessels. All women can dance, all women can express, and all women really should-- for the sake of their health on all levels. A week-long retreat I did with them years ago marked a turning point for me when I went from joyless to joyful. This helped me as much, if not more so at times, than Energy Medicine. Dance gave me a passion to run towards, instead of an illness I was always running from. The healing power of this can't be underestimated."
In the human experience, health and creativity are inextricably entwined. They are really just two ways of talking about the same thing; how is our energy flowing in us? Is it stuck, or is it vivacious? By encouraging creativity, you support health...and by supporting health, you hope to unleash the creative spirit.
Emily maintains a private practice in Manhattan, happily showing clients practical techniques for self-healing...and dancing with them a little when needed to get the energies moving...

"Our job is not to make our bodies heal, our job is to get out of the way.
The body knows how to heal. All of our cells know how to heal. When we
stop interfering with the process, healing happens. We have infinite
intelligence inside of us."
